- PM Noda won investiture votes (yes: 308, [lower house]; yes: 110, total: 241 [upper house]) on 30 August 2011 following the resignation of PM Kan. His cabinet came into office on 2 September. Cabinet lost majority control and was forced to dissolve parliament in fall 2012. It ended with an early election on 16 December 2012.
