Description
Originally the Third Force was a coalition of the Communist Party (PCF), the Popular Republican Movement (MRP) and the Socialist Party (SFIO). In 1947 the Communist Party (PCF) left the coalition and the National Centre of Independents (CNIP), the Rally of Republican Lefts (RGR), the Radical Socialist Party (PRR/RS) and the Democratic and Socialist Union of the Resistance (UDSR) joined it instead. The coalition was renamed Third Force.
